(November 2020)
This was a class project that served as an introduction to modular and versatile thinking. The task was simply to create a set of pieces that could be used to produce a variety of hallway layouts in a "sci-fi" style.
Looking back, there are a number of things I would have done differently. In particular, I would have used a trim/tile method of materials rather than unique unwraps. I also would have tried to add some more variation in the wall panel designs so that they are not so incredibly repetitive (and maybe gone for some different colors than green with yellow lighting, which is quite nauseating to look at).
It's also worth noting that I used a multiple material group workflow in substance, requiring separate maps for each group that needed to be spliced together after exporting. This is the reasoning behind the bizarre padding in the texture maps.
